Workshop for Swansea Institute
Matt and Daffy had a brilliant time presenting and workshopping at SAND this year. It was great to meet the students and see the work of Sand, and other schools in the UK and beyond.
Daffy: The programming was very interesting. Going from a presentation about animated Anime erotica straight into a PIXAR Ratatouille talk was a stroke of genius, I can’t believe it worked!
Matt: Being a conference newbie, I was impressed with the ambition of some of the students. Those who seeked us out and asked interesting, challenging questions made our visit worthwhile.
Daffy: Which presentation did you get the most out of?
Matt: Philip Hunt’s presentation was both inspiring and jealousy-inducing, as was Shelley Page’s Eye-Candy. You?
Daffy: I enjoyed Saraswathi’s talk. She is the founder and Director of Rhythm and Hues India. As well as seeing their beautiful offices, and seeing the charitable work she does outside of the studio with the orphan kids, it was really encouraging to hear (and see) that their office is very much part of the whole process alongside their LA office, versus being just an outsourcing facility.
